FEMeeting Praxis : Mind/Body balancing practice in time of Covid

Praxis by Isabel Burr Raty

This PRAXIS invites everyone who wishes to take a moment to comfort the self at times of covid pressures.

Drawing from a variety of worldly traditions (Taoism, Amerindian shamanism, European paganism) it proposes 1 hr. of imagination and body active training, focusing on vibration matters that can have a revitalizing yet calming effect in us.

With an emphasis in our plant, animal, mineral and sexual energy bodies we will root, circulate and expand the endless balancing possibilities inhabiting our main vital organs: heart, spleen, lungs, kidneys, liver, and glands such as pineal.

Open to every-body. No experience required. Free of costs.

To have – your phone or computer camera on, 1 chair, 1 mat or carpet to sit on the floor.

Praxis happens every Tuesday at 4pm central EU time for 1 hr, initially till June 2020. We start this Tuesday 28 April. I created this unique zoom link that serves to join everytime, no password required.

FEMannouncement : the Mycorrhiza Emergency Fund

Announcing  the LAUNCH of an artists’ EMERGENCY mutual fund initiated by  the FEMeeting COMMUNITY!

The Mycorrhiza Emergency Fund | MISSION & VISION

Late in your bills? Need help for groceries? Must travel to a safe place?

The Mycorrhiza Emergency Fund aims to intercept and provide relief to members of our community in financial need as a result of the current global CoVid pandemic.. The name of the initiative celebrates symbiotic associations among different kinds of organisms. The FEM community aims to invest in its growing network to support its members as individuals.

Not all governments will care for their citizens in equitable and inclusive ways; the Mycorrhiza Emergency Fund is an international safety netfor here & now within and beyond the FEMeeting network.

No one should worry about daily expenses during this CoVid pandemic quarantine. Knowing FEMeeting provides emergency funding offers hope and relief temporary support, but crucial as we (the FEMeeting community) navigate the coming weeks or months without despair, anxiety or panic.  Some of us have professional positions; some have a temporary scholarship; some have kids; some live in a country with a public health system; some have a wealthy family; some are paying mortgages; some own a tiny flat. FEMeeting is a lively diverse community. The Mycorrhiza Emergency Fund is our effort to help and support our under-resourced community members in need.

FEMeeting announces its first community meetings taking place in the upcoming Spring 2020

Due to the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) worldwide situation this event has been cancelled.

FEMeeting announces its first community meetings taking place in the upcoming Spring 2020: “FEMeeting: Paris” (on the 20th and 21st of March) and “FEMeeting: Troy” (on the 20th and 21st of March).

Launched in 2017, the conference “FEMeeting: Women in Art, Science and Technology” was driven by the desire to develop and promote more direct collaboration between individuals who identify with the female gender. The idea behind FEMeeting was orchestrated by the Portuguese artist Marta de Menezes and scholar Dalila Honorato, after realizing that women in the field of Art and Science have an unquestionable presence worldwide.

FEMeeting acknowledges the social relevance of a core community and its role for the future. FEMeeting’s main purpose is to disseminate projects that are being carried out by women in order to contribute (a) to the development of research methodologies in art and science and (b) to the development of collaboration strategies that can increase knowledge sharing and bring communities together.

The main FEMeeting conferences are structured integrating part of presentations open to the public in urban centers and the main part of presentations held behind closed doors in smaller locations. These characteristics, in addition to several organized or spontaneous social activities, have the function of encouraging communication between participants.

The two first FEMeetings took place in Portugal and were organized by Cultivamos Cultura. The outcomes of 2018 and 2019 conferences have been many and, though most are intangible, among the project’s distinguishable objectives there are: (a) a strong personal support through instant internet communication between women doing research work (in the broadest sense of the term) in art, science and technology (b) and the encouragement towards the formation of local nodes to support research and artistic creation developed to enable a wide network of direct communication among them and encourage trust.

It is in this sense that FEMeeting announces its first community meetings taking place in the upcoming Spring 2020: “FEMeeting: Paris” and “FEMeeting: Troy”.

FEMeeting: Paris” is hosted by Leonardo/Olats on March 20th and 21st as The Leonardo Space Art Science Workshop (shorten in SAS WS). “FEMeeting: Troy” is organized with Media Sanctuary’s NATURE Lab Initiative (North Troy Art, Technology, and Urban Research in Ecology) and co-founders Marta de Menezes and Dalila Honorato on Saturday, March 21st.
